This becomes a problem if your dogs behavior becomes unruly, aggressive or destructive. In this case, you would want to find a way to correct the behavior before your dog begins to damage things or hurt other dogs or humans.

The first thing you should understand about male dog behavior is that it may simply be a result of a dogs desire to show dominance. Dogs in the wild typically live in packs where there is one alpha dog. A domesticated dog may no longer have a pack of its own dogs but it may think of you and other members of the household as its pack. You may have problems with your dogs behavior if you let it believe that it is the alpha dog in your home. You should therefore try to firmly establish at home that you are the alpha creature and that your dog should obey and submit to you.

In some cases, difficult behavior in male dogs may be a result of a terrible past. Your dog may have been previously trained for fighting. It may also have been the victim of cruel treatment from past handlers. Knowing these facts about your dogs past may help you find the right way to help it. In some severe cases, you may have to ask for the help of an expert behaviorist to check your dogs dangerous male dog behavior.
