No matter how well-behaved and well-mannered your dog maybe, there are just some days when you feel like your dog just isn’t paying attention to anything you’re saying. Talking, yelling, shouting and everything from jumping up and down doesn’t seem to have any effect on your dog. This is not a common scenario for all dog owners.

1. Your Dog Is Not Human

As such, your dog is driven by instincts and unless you’re a pet psychic, there’s really no way of figuring out what your pet is thinking. There is, however, a way for dogs and humans to communicate. As the human, try understand your dogs limitations in terms of communication and try to level with his instincts when communicating with him or her.

2. Dogs Don’t Speak English

Keep in mind that your dogs don’t speak English. No matter how you train them, they’re only obeying you because of conditional learning. If you’re expecting your dog to really comprehend what “NO” or “STAND” and “SIT” means, you’ll only get frustrated.

3. They Growl

A dog usually growls when you’ve done something that displeases him or her. Think of communicating with your dog this way. When your dog does something that you’re not too happy about, growl and say “NO” to relay the message that you’re not happy with his actions and that he should stop.

4. What Instincts Tell You

Always remember that dogs act upon instincts, not by reason. When trying to understand your dog or to communicate with him or her, try to remember your own instincts. What does it tell you? That may be just what your dog is telling you as well.

The next time your dog behaves badly, just remember these considerations. Then, you’ll now how to ineteract with your dog and get the results you want.
