Ten Golden Rules For Every Dog Owner: What You Should Know
There are no bad dog behaviors – only dog masters who can’t handle and modify these behaviors properly. Your dog’s behavior very much reflects your ability to care and train for your dog. Although dogs, being descendants of wild pack animals, have their own natural and instinctive tendencies, dogs are also one of the best animals to train and domesticate.
Training and caring for dogs isn’t necessarily easy, though. It takes some patience, understanding and acute sense of observation from you, as the master, to determine what works well with your dog and what doesn’t in terms of dog obedience. Here are 10 golden rules for every dog owner then, to help you create a loving and worthwhile relationship or friendship with your dog.
1. Love your dog. Even in their irrationality, dogs instinctively are loving and loyal to humans.
2. Never beat, hurt, punish, abuse and abandon your dog. He or she is a helpless creature without your care.
3. Feed your dog well.
4. Give him good veterinary care.
5. Exercise and train your dog. They need at least 30 minutes everyday to walk and release unspent energy.
6. Groom your dog.
7. Socialize your dog. They are pack creatures that need the occasional company of other dogs, too.
8. Devote at least some 10-15 minutes of quality time with your dog. Dogs are just as sensitive as humans – if not more. They know when they are neglected.
9. Be a responsible dog owner. Know what to do with noise pollution from your dog. Know how to deal with their peeing and pooing. Have your dogs trained.
10. Make informed decisions about your dog, his training, his health and his grooming. Learn as much as you can about his needs.
